Mighty Clouds is the new project from Fred Thomas (Saturday Looks Good to Me, City Center) and Betty Marie Barnes (SLGTM). Their self-titled debut is a split release between Polyvinyl and Life Like. Against a backdrop of delicate, unified instrumentation and subtle orchestration, Barnes' voice and Thomas' songwriting prowess shine unabated. With it's stripped-down sound, Mighty Clouds strikes a unique balance between Thomas' sparse solo recordings and SLGTM's Spector-esque production values.
