For RECORD STORE DAY 2017 Music On Vinyl will release a special double A-side split 7 inch single with the songs Homeland and Summer Is Here. Homeland by Haarlem's Chef's Special is an up-tempo and energetic song. Featuring their trademark ska, reggae, funk and pop roots, the song is an up-tempo and energetic track. Formed in 2008, Haarlem, Chef's Special became the house band for popular Dutch TV program De Wereld Draait Door in 2011. Since then the five-piece band, led by vocalist and frontman Joshua Nolet, has released two albums and three ep's and are touring frequently. Flipping over the coloured 7, you'll hear Summer is here from The Outsiders which features Wally Tax on vocals. The song was originally released in 1967, reached the #8 position in the Dutch Singles chart and celebrates it's 50th anniversary this year. It is a classic example of the Nederbiet sound and The Outsiders gained popularity as support-act for The Rolling Stones when they performed in Holland in 1966. They enjoyed several hits, released albums during their active period and toured in different line-ups up off and on. Unfortunately Wally Tax, their lead-singer and composer passed away in 2005.
