Discovery was his ninth studio album, originally released in June 1984. Itwas recorded in the Swiss Alps ''at 2000 metres within sight of Lake Genevaon clear days''. Following on from the success of the previous year's Crises,Discovery was co-produced by Oldfield with drummer Simon Phillips andfeatured the striking vocals of Maggie Reilly and Barry Palmer. The albumcontains two of Oldfield's long-term favourites, the Europe-wide hit 'ToFrance' and the remarkable 12-minute-plus instrumental 'The Lake'. Newlyremastered for 2016, the album also includes in-era B-sides and single mixes.
