New York lyricists Nejma Nefertiti and Double A.B. team up with producer Dub Sonata for a conceptual project titled Animal Barz. Each song on the thematic album details the intricacies of a different animal. First conceived as a 5-track EP, the trio expanded the concept into a full length LP to portray creatures such as Elephants, Sharks, and Butterflies among others - each depicted in the cover artwork designed by Nadeneco. The lead single Pigeons reverently pays homage to T.O.N.Y., the timeless anthem by esteemed rap duo Capone-N-Noreaga, and utilizes the symbolic imagery of the pigeon - the unofficial mascot of New York City - to capture the essence of NYC Hip Hop and it's cultural legacy.
