Long out of print and extremely hard to find on wax, the record has been recut by Bob Weston at Chicago Mastering Service and will be pressed on 180 gram vinyl with a gatefold sleeve. Some background: originally released in 2002 on CD by Tiger Style, the vinyl version of A Data Learn the Language was left to Counterflow Records. However, as that label became caught up in legal and financial difficulties the bulk of the pressing mysteriously disappeared. Fewer than 100 copies wound up making it into circulation. Formed in Gainesville, Florida in 1997, The Mercury Program released music on Boxcar, Tiger Style, and Kindercore Records and toured heavily through the early '00s. Now split between distant locales - with members spread between New York, Gainesville, and Palm City - the band has become slightly hiatus-prone as of late. A seven year gap divides the band's two most recent records, Chez Viking (2009) and New Myths (2016).
