Deluxe double gray colored vinyl LP pressing in gatefold jacket. Howl Mockery At The Cross is a compilation by one-man black metal act Leviathan. With 2005's Howl Mockery At The Cross we have a collection of demos labelled by Wrest (The man behind Leviathan) as Selections remembered from the damaged cassettes recorded from 2000-2002., which he follows afterward with the comment: This is not a release of retrogression... but of chronology. Leviathan is an ambient black metal solo project that started in 1998 by Jef Whitehead, using the pseudonym Wrest. In Leviathan, Wrest records and plays all instruments including vocals entirely on his own. He has stated in interviews that he has been playing drums longer than any other instrument and that the drums are his instrument of choice. Wrest also plays and records everything in his other project Lurker of Chalice. Summoning Lupine, Lycanthropus Rex, The Axis and Maw of Inferno Mine, Where Annihilation Dwells, Liar of Nazareth, Just Under Tainted Grace, S.W.O.L. (2001), Nothing Changes (Death in June Cover)
