Bert Kaempfert, the 'King Of Easy Listening', was an arranger/composer, who began his career as a saxophonist in the orchestra of the Gdansk Radio. As a composer he was responsible for the top hits Spanish Eyes' (Al Martino, 1966) and Strangers In The Night' (Frank Sinatra, 1966). Wonderland By Night was Bert Kaempfert's first big international success and was a Billboard number one hit for three weeks in 1961. It was Bert Kaempfert's first hit with his orchestra, this is nicely executed, safe, uncompelling but appealing pop music wallpaper from that period when the 1950s were ending but the 1960s hadn't really begun. Wonderland By Night, That Happy Feeling, Cerveza, Stay with Me, Echo in the Night, Petticoats of Portugal, Happy Trumpeter, Take Me, Dreaming the Blues, Tenderly, A Swingin' Safari, Now and Forever, Afrikaan Beat, Somebody Loves Me, Ducky, April in Portugal, Market Day, There I've Said It Again
